After living in Japan for a few years, this is the first time I’ve had the chance to see the Sea of Japan — the sea that connects four different countries: Japan, South Korea, North Korea, and Russia. I went to Tojinbo cliffs to get this view and I was quite surprised at first to see how different the rock formations are compared to other cliffs I’ve visited in the past 1. But Fukui is already well known as the “Dinosaur Kingdom of Japan” because it’s where numerous dinosaur fossil were discovered, so I guess it’s not surprising to find these kinds of ancient cliffs here as well.
