I’ll be honest: I’ve never really understood contemporary or modern art, and I’m not ashamed of it. In Japan, as I’ve observed, art is celebrated much more than in many parts of Southeast Asia. While living here, I’ve also started to enjoy visiting art museums and slowly become more comfortable being around contemporary art. The contemporary art museum in Kanazawa is one of the best museums I’ve visited so far, and a big part of why I enjoy it is because the abundance of natural light the museum allows in 1 - what a great architecture and environment to be in. I still don’t fully admire the art pieces, but I’m learning to appreciate the experience of being around it.
