At this point of my life, the Shinkansen is still a pricey option for me to travel around Japan. But since Japan was under lockdown from inbound tourist due to the coronavirus pandemic, some JR travel passes - which are usually cheaper and only allowed for tourist, were made available for foreign residents to purchase. I love riding the Shinkansen, and whenever I travel to remote areas outside the big cities, I always make sure to choose the right timing and pick the best seat for the best views, and maybe snap a few photograph along the way. This time, it was an early golden sunrise shining over snowy mountains on the route to Koriyama.
