While on my way to Morioka, I decided to stop by Ichinoseki, a small town in Iwate Prefecture. Honestly, I just wanted a short break, have a quick breakfast, and take a look around the town. But I was mesmerized by the beauty of some of the places I had seen in the pamphlets I received earlier and decided to take a quick visit to the valley. I truly enjoyed the boat ride through Geibikei Gorge, a true gift of nature. The ride became even more memorable when the Japanese elderly boat skipper sang an echoic melody during the journey through the valley. I was also excited to see that this town is pushing for linear particle accelerators to be built here. If successful, people from all over the world—like scientists and physicists—will have even more reason to visit this beautiful town. I want to see Ichinoseki to thrive.
