There is almost no reason not to enjoy the apple culture in Aomori when visiting here. I like to think I timed my visit perfectly to this town — I came to Aomori in autumn, which is also the best season for apple harvesting in Hirosaki. The weather was great, although Mount Iwaki was a bit shy and hid its peak from me that day 1. Still, this huge and symmetrical stratovolcano looked so majestic that it made me want to come back just to hike it someday. I will come back, not as tourist, but as a hiker.
