I’ve been to multiple gorges in Japan, including famous ones like Nagatoro and Geibikei Gorge in Ichinoseki, but Oboke Gorge felt personally different 1. Its real charm was the journey to the gorge itself, with highways surrounded by vast mountain and stream views. There were multiple parking stop points to capture and enjoy this scenery along the way, but they were often already occupied by cars that had arrived earlier. So I guess only the lucky ones are given the privilege to enjoy these views. I hope you are lucky!
